MAKING OF IDOL – KUMARTULI

Kumartuli is a place besides the river Ganges in Kolkata where a large number of families are engaged in making of idols of Hindu gods and goddesses through out the year. A section of them are also in the activity of making statues and other art objects with the help of glass – fibre, cement and plaster of paris and even metals. Here is one such artist is found to have been busy in making idols of Lord Ganesha in his studio.
